VA Modernizes Ohio Healthcare System

Replaces 30-year-old information tracking software.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) began the process of updating its electronic health record system in late 2020 and has been slowly implementing its new system on a city-by-city basis. On April 30, the VA finished replacing its 30-year-old software with a new information tracking system for the VA Central Ohio Healthcare System based in Columbus, Ohio. The next two VA healthcare systems scheduled for updating are Roseburg, Oregon, and White City, Oregon.

“This electronic health record rollout is an important step in our progress toward a single instance of a medical record connecting VA, the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Coast Guard that will provide all our patients with seamless care from active duty to Veteran status,” said VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office Executive Director Terry Adirim.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Executive Director Adirim as the transition to electronic health records continues.
  • For wisdom for Secretary McDonough as he heads the VA Department.
  • For the VA officials who provide care for veterans.
